2. What funding could be available?

a. £750 - £20,000
Grants are available within this range.

For projects requiring grants in excess of £20,000, click here and see the ‘Professionals’ section then click on 'Value of funding' in the side menu.

b. Match funding is always required.
Normally we will accept grant requests of up to 75% of the project costs. Up to 95% has been permitted in exceptional cases.

In-kind contributions are accepted as well. These can be:

  • Non-cash contributions, including elements such as the value of donated land, property, material or services.
  • Based on the amount of time that volunteers contribute to the project.  As a guide for costing volunteer involvement we propose that you use the following:
  • £50 per day for volunteer involvement or:
  • £100 per day for specialist technical or professional input

We can only fund VAT for goods and services if you/your team are not VAT registered.

What will not be funded?

  • Projects that are statutory responsibility of the landowner
  • Routine refurbishment of existing facilities
  • Projects that do not offer public benefit
  • Projects that are deemed to cause environmental or ecological damage
  • Works in private gardens, emergency or temporary repairs
  • Insurance other than public liability relating to project specific public events
  • Green space projects that do not create permanent facilities or local benefits.

Again, if you have any queries, talk to a Green Space Advisor on 01525 378101.
