3. How do I apply for the funding?
To secure your funding the following four
steps need to be completed:
Step 1: Who can apply?
- Any community, voluntary or partnership
group with a constitution and a bank account
- Town and parish councils
- Registered charities
Individuals/businesses can only apply where
a project demonstrates long-term community involvement. Please note
we are especially interested in partnership projects with businesses
that contribute funding or in-kind support.
Step 2: Contact Green Space Advisor
Next, you will need to contact one of our Green
Space Advisors – all are employees of the Greensand Trust, an
independent environmental charity. This is well worth the effort, as
they are not only very knowledgeable about our Community Grant scheme,
but have the experience to help you at every stage. For example, they
can put you in touch with specialists, talk through your ideas, help
with the application, advise on costings and help with the final project’s
management.
You can find their address details on this website’s ‘Contact’ page.
Telephone 01525 378101. Or, just click
here to send an email confirming your contact details and summarising
your project idea, and one of our Green Space Advisors will get in
touch to discuss it with you.
Step
3: Application Form
Complete the application form (again our Green Space
Advisor can help you do this). This will be assessed and, if necessary,
modified, then passed to the Grant Panel for approval.
All applications are evaluated on a ‘value for
money’ basis and applicants may be asked to provide evidence of
likely costs in the form of detailed quotations for significant items
or services. Again the Green Space Advisors will be able to help you
with this task.
